Soňa Enenkelová, assistant at the Department of Sociology

“Since I didn’t grow up with a mobile phone or tablet in hand, I’d say the world of computers and IT in general is the biggest challenge in my work agenda.”

Soňa Enenkelová, assistant at the Department of Sociology

What does your ideal morning look like?
On workdays, I try to find at least a moment to stretch and have a coffee. On weekends, I enjoy sleeping in and don’t mind spending the morning in my bathrobe. :-)

What book(s) have you recently read and would recommend?
Lately, I’ve mainly been listening to audiobooks. I really enjoyed the Sudeten House trilogy by Štěpán Javůrek.

What do you look forward to most in your workday?
Lunch would be the obvious answer :-) But really, it varies depending on what the day holds. I generally enjoy the mornings most—when the faculty is relatively quiet and it’s easier to get work done.

What has surprised you most in the past six months?
That the wallet I forgot at a gas station was returned to me by the honest person who found it with all the cash and IDs still inside.

What is your favorite place at the faculty?
I don’t think I have just one favorite spot. I really like the atrium, I enjoy stopping by Krmítko, and I try to make my office feel cozy so it’s a comfortable place to work…

What advice would you give to your student self?
To be a little less responsible, enjoy student life more, and travel more.
