The alarm signaling the drill started ringing around 11 a.m. Shortly afterward, all staff and students received a text message informing them that it was a fire drill.

“We deliberately chose a time when the faculty is full of staff and students in order to identify any potential weaknesses,” explained David Jati, head of the building management unit.

In the event of an evacuation, in addition to the main staircase leading to Joštova Street, two emergency exits located at the rear of the building can also be used. These exits lead out to Marešova Street. The designated assembly point for FSS MU is located near the Red Church.

“It’s important to practice these procedures so that we’re prepared in case of a real emergency. This time, the evacuation took 11 minutes, and we’re satisfied. Apart from a few minor issues, everything went smoothly,” stated the Dean of the Faculty, Stanislav Balík. The faculty leadership will conduct a detailed evaluation of the entire drill to ensure all possible shortcomings are identified.

We thank everyone for the coordinated and orderly evacuation of the building.
